डाल हिलाकर आम बुलाता तब कोयल आती है। नहीं चाहिए इसको तबला, नहीं चाहिए हारमोनियम, छिप-छिपकर पत्तों में यह तो गीत नया गाती है! चिक्-चिक् मत करना रे निक्की, भौंक न रोजी रानी, गाता एक, सुना करते हैं सब तो उसकी बानी। आम लगेंगे इसीलिए यह गाती मंगल गाना, आम मिलेंगे सबको, इसको नहीं एक भी खाना। सबके सुख के लिए बेचारी उड़-उड़कर आती है, आम बुलाता है, तब कोयल काम छोड़ आती है।
