ਮੈਂ ਦੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਇਹ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਬਨਾਵਟਾ ਨੂੰ ,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰੁੱਖ-ਪੱਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਨੇ ।
ਮਿੱਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਇੰਝ ਜਾਪੇ ,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਣ-ਕਣ ਉਹਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਨੇ ।
ਅੰਬਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਚਾਦਰ ਵਿਛੀ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਦੀ ,
ਤਾਰੇ ਜਗ-ਮਗਾਉੰਦੇ ਨੇ
ਇੰਝ ਜਾਪੇ , ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੰਨ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਮੁਸਕਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ ।
ਬਹੁਤੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨੀ ,
ਬਸ ਇੱਕ ਛਾਪ ਹੈ ਘੇਰੇ ਦੀ ।
ਅਸਮਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਛੀ ਉੱਡਦੇ ਦੇਖ ,
ਇੰਝ ਲੱਗੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਅਪਣਾ ਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ।
ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ,
ਭੋਰਾ ਵੀ ਜਾ ਖਿਲਿਆ ।
ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਮੁੜ-ਮੁੜ ਓਥੇ ਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ,
ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਪਰਛਾਵੇਂ ਨੂੰ ।
ਦੱਸ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਭੱਜਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਂ
ਛੱਡ ਜਿਮੇਂਵਾਰੀਆ ਨੂੰ ।
